Himes Street Studios Rental Agreement & Contract
The use of Himes St. Studios is a privilege and considered a large responsibility to a production. Failure to meet proper deadlines, expectations, and usage standards will be met with the holding of grades, grade reduction, or, in the worst of cases, a disciplinary committee.
The staff and faculty of the Digital Media Arts department have the right to decline, revoke, or terminate mid-production the use of Himes St. Studios at any time if the following rules, stipulations, and regulations are not met.
Rules and Regulations
The studio is for the exclusive use of film, animation, and broadcast creation. Any use deemed by staff and faculty to not fall under those guide lines will mean immediate termination of studio use.
Any calls of disturbance from neighboring houses will mean immediate termination of studio use.
If the studio is left behind by a production in a condition that doesn’t meet our specified teardown expectations the team must act immediately to complete the requests. Failure to do so can can lead to grade reduction.
Filmmaking equipment may be stored at the studio during production, but the studio cannot simply be used as a storage facility. Production must be taking place in that very studio for equipment to be stored.
Checkout & Checkin Workflow
The form must be filled out and turned into the studio supervisor at least two weeks prior to shooting.
The Studio Supervisor will determine if production is feasible, speak to facility members, and approve or decline the studio request.
If request is declined, the studio supervisor may help the student adjust their proposal. If accepted, the studio supervisor will reserve the studio keys for the requested time slot.
The production takes place in Himes St. Studios and the production team will “zero out” the studio upon completion.
The Studio Supervisor will perform a post-shoot evaluation walk-through of the studio with a producer from the project.
The Studio Supervisor will determine if the production team has met the requirements of zeroing out the studio and will approve or decline. If declined, the production team will immediately fix any issues. If approved, the production team has completed their contract.
