Believing that every soul matters, the Center for Spiritual Formation offers a variety of meaningful spiritual opportunities at Huntington University. Students are required to earn a certain number of spiritual life credits each semester as part of their educational journey. Students use the iAttended app to track their attendance. For more information on The Center for Spiritual Formation, please see our main website page.

Verse of the Year

Jesus said, "For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel to save it." Mark 8:35 (NIV)

Chapel and Lecture Recordings

We are pleased to offer you recordings of our Tuesday and Friday chapels. You will also find recordings of special guest speakers throughout the year, and our yearly Forester Lecture Series.  We hope this will allow students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to stay current with a variety of people speaking on campus.  Also, we hope friends, family, and alumni will stop by and listen.

Important Center for Spiritual Formation Forms

All non-married full-time students under the age of twenty-five are required to receive an average of 2 Spiritual Life Credits (SLCs) per week per semester (for a total of 30). Waivers are given if you work full-time (40+hours per week), are married, have young children, or are 25+ years of age. There are also reductions or waivers provided for certain internships and fieldwork that is required by your major for graduation. Reductions are not granted because you are a commuter or have a full schedule with classes, work, extracurricular activities, or athletics.

If, due to outstanding circumstances, you have concerns about meeting this requirement you may complete the Spiritual Life Credit Reduction Request form

This is also the form you should use to request an SLC reduction if you will be completing an internship or practicum through Huntington University for credit this semester. To be considered for a spiritual life credit reduction, this form must be completed no later than Friday, September 5th.
